Usually, if a farmer’s pet goes missing, you can say goodbye to it forever. Especially if the farm is located in a deep forest. But this unusual story, told by Lemurov.net, shows it: there is always a chance of recovering a four-legged pupil. Even though a whole year has passed.
Bonnie, a four-month-old cow, ran away from an auction, where she was supposed to find a new home. She managed to jump out of the paddock and rush into the woods so fast that her owners didn’t have time to do anything.
Bonnie had made her desperate escape in the summer, so it was easy for her to feed herself for the first few months, avoiding all the humans. Come fall, however, it was assumed she would be eaten by the wolves or simply give up and go off on her own.
It didn’t happen. The rebellious cow continued to be seen by locals, but she constantly ran away into the thicket that was already hers. Thus Bonny has become a true local legend. They even installed cameras in the forest for her. They wanted to understand how the animal managed to survive in the wild.
When its subsistence was not possible, the cow came to look for food on the farms. People treated the local celebrity with loyalty, gave her treats, and she returned to the forest with an independent gaze. So how did she survive?
Everything became clear thanks to the CCTV cameras that had been installed to monitor the rebel cow. It turned out that she had attached herself to a herd of reindeer. For some reason, they started confusing Bonnie with their own. So she and her friends still live somewhere in the Dutch woods.
