When you don’t have air conditioning in your home, the summer heat can be particularly unpleasant and exhausting. Sticking your head in the freezer can be tempting, but don’t be too quick to resort to such drastic methods.
Here are some simple but effective ways to cool off in the heat. Hot showers may seem like a weird way to beat the heat at first, but they work really well. A hot shower will make your bedroom more comfortable and allow you to work, sleep or do whatever you want. You can also take a contrast shower in the heat.
Not only will it be refreshing, but it will also help strengthen your cardiovascular system. If you can’t shower, just wet your feet, hands, neck, and face with cold water.
This will quickly refresh you and reinvigorate you. When you feel overheated again, repeat the process. Spicy foods increase sweating but do not cause an increase in body temperature, allowing it to cool down. However, do not overdo it if you suffer from a gastrointestinal condition.
If you experience abdominal pain and heaviness after eating spicy foods, at least temporarily adopt a mild diet. Use electrical appliances, such as ovens and stoves, as infrequently as possible due to the high temperatures in the apartment.
Turn on appliances early in the morning or late at night when the temperature drops.
