New York artists are the kind of people who can turn any nonsense into a work of art. They recently created two hugging lions using nothing but old cardboard, glue, and their craftsmanship.
The couple wanted to pay homage to nature and show the link between the lack of resources and the decline of wildlife. To assemble the pieces of this unusual sculpture. They used hot glue guns and a cardboard assembly method similar to puzzles.
The lions’ fur was made from thin pieces of paper to make it look as realistic as possible. Before starting work on their masterpiece, the couple spent a lot of time studying the anatomy and behavior of lions, researching animal movements and actions by reviewing manuals.
“We saw some great movies and videos that showed us how sweet and affectionate lions can be. As part of a troupe and that gave us the idea to create a sculpture of a cuddling animal. » – told The Epoch Times.
The artists are making one cardboard elephant and hope to make 10 to 12 more from old boxes in the future.
